My Baby

Not even a month ago I was telling my boss how I would never have a dog. It was too much like having another child. Cats are easy. You just give them food, water, and litter and you can leave the house for weeks at a time. Dogs require tending.

Long story short. Jane's twin Jean was visiting a couple weeks ago and brought along her Westie, Precious. You could see the love pouring out of the boys. How could I deprive them any longer? Anyway, I now have the cutest puppy ever.

I've always had a hard time naming pets. Often they've just been Kitty1, Kitty2, and Kitty3. The boys insist we name the animals. They started calling the puppy Buddy, but that's Sam's dog's name. Now they're calling him L'il Squeak. Squeak is fine since it's a character from The Color Purple, but I'm still not sure. Jacob gave our cat the moniker Julia. Brown suggested naming the dog after a famous Julia's husband. Julia Roberts' husband's name is Danny Moder. Julia Child's husband's name is Paul Child. Then we have Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Julia Stiles, Raul Julia, Julia Duffy, Julia Ormond, Julia Sweeney..... I think my favorite suggestion is Sean after Sean and Julia McNamara on Nip/Tuck. But is Sean a good dog name?
